There are many different hands that are possible in the game of poker. The highest-ranking hand is called a royal flush, consisting of a King, Queen, and Ace of the same suit. It is only tied by another royal flush of the same suit. Other common hands include straight flushes, which consist of five cards of the same suit. A fourth-highest hand is called four of a kind, which includes any four cards of the same rank.
Three-card poker hands include a full house, straight flush, and full house. A flush is five cards of the same rank that are all the same suit. Straight cards, on the other hand, contain five consecutive cards of the same rank from more than one suit. And 3 of a kind, or two pairs, are made up of three cards of the same rank. Pairs are made up of two unmatched cards and two cards of a different rank.
Calling is another common action in poker. A “call” in poker means making a wager equal to the last bet or raise. If someone else bets $10 and you want to call their bet, you would say, “call,” and place your bet in chips or cash. After you call, you can fold any time or continue watching the game. A player may raise multiple times before folding, but the last action determines whether or not the player has a winning hand.
