A slot is a narrow opening, usually elongated or square, for receiving something, as coins, tickets or letters. A slot can also refer to a position, as in a program or time slot on the broadcast schedule. In linguistics, a slot is a position with a particular grammatical role, as in a tagmemic lexicon, or a gap within a phrase, as in \u201ca slot for a name\u201d.<\/p>\n
While the majority of gamblers use gambling as a harmless form of entertainment, a small but significant subset of problem gamblers can experience severe gambling problems, such as financial debt and issues with interpersonal relationships (Lahn, 2005).
