Poker is a card game played between two or more players. The object is to win the pot (amount of all bets placed) by having the highest ranked poker hand at the end of a betting round. Each round begins with the player to the left of the dealer placing a bet, usually in chips or cash. Then it is the turn of every player at the table to call, raise or fold. Once the first betting round is complete, the dealer deals three cards face up on the board that anyone can use. This is called the flop. Then everyone gets another chance to bet again or raise.
